Make your Dream List

by Melissa at 12/4/2008 8:24:00 AM

Make your Dream List

As New Year approaches, what better time to make your Dream List!  And I have the perfect journal to help you capture and record your dreams, wishes, resolutions, and more!

Dream List Media has these beautiful Photo Journals perfect for anyone on your list this holiday season!  At only $16.95, this journal starts off with pages set aside to make your actual "Dream List" with a corresponding "due date".  What would you put on your list?  Me...a big one would be to travel to Ireland, my husband's would be to walk the Appalachian trail.  A smaller one would be to go see an opera (which comes to town all the time but I never go).  So many dreams and so little time (and money) so get organized with your Dream List journal and make them all come true!

There's also room for photos and plenty of writing as you record your track towards accomplishment of said dreams!  And finally, in the back of the journal, there's contact pages, perfect for recording travel agencies (you know, for my trip to Ireland) or whomever else you need to remember contact information for that will help you achieve your dreams!  Give it as a gift this year, and buy one for yourself while you are at it.  My list is growing everyday and I can not wait to start working towards my goals!

Make 2009 Your Year to Shine

by Melissa at 12/1/2008 8:47:00 AM

As the curtains close on 2008, we are reminded of the New Year looming around the corner.  It’s that all important time of year to create our New Year’s resolutions.  But instead of your typical resolution, to lose weight or vow to cut down to one latte per week, I propose a new and more exciting concept.  Why not give 2009 a theme?  The year to dream.

Life whizzes by, full of errands to run, work to finish, and for some, kids to raise.  Dreams are pushed to the next year, with the intention of pursuing them when there’s more time or money, or whatever excuse you tell yourself.  A year becomes five years, and then ten and twenty.  If you’re not careful, life will pass you by in a flash.  So whether you’re fresh out of college and just beginning your life, right smack dab in the middle of life, or retired and looking back on your years, now is the time.  It’s time to start making your dreams come true!

To learn how to make your dreams come true in 2009, read more from my most recent article in Aspire Magazine.  Click on the following link: http://www.aspiremag.net/pdfs/decjan08/Make2009YourYearToShine.pdf.

Dream List for the Traveler Review

by Melissa at 11/25/2008 6:44:00 AM

Seattle Post Intelligencer travel blogger, Beth Whitman, wrote about Dream List for the Traveler:

Travel Gear: Dream List for the Traveler

I'm a list-girl. I keep lists of everything and have them sorted out on my laptop in spreadsheets, in a notebook I carry to every meeting and in my phone. I really believe that you need to write down your tasks and goals in order to fully realize them. It doesn't matter if it's a reminder to pick up birdfood from the pet store or a goal to get yourself to Papua New Guinea.

That's why when I saw the Dream List series of books, I was pretty darned excited because these are right up my alley.

I found out about them when I spoke at Village Books in Bellingham a couple of weeks ago. A gal who attended my talk, Melissa Borghorst, started Dream List Media and is obviously as excited about travel as I am and equally as eager to encourage others to travel.

Melissa produces a series of books meant to inspire us to pursue our wildest dreams. Her first two books are Dream List for My Amazing Life and Dream List for the Traveler.

Each book begins with a brief set of instructions - a simple step by step guide to get you started realizing your dreams. It's followed by several pages where you can actually list out your dreams, providing a little check box for each one you've completed. There's lots of space for photos and journaling and, finally, contacts, for those wonderful people you meet on the road.

The biggest treat you can give yourself this holiday season is some time to daydream about your travels. Where IS it that you want to go and how will you get there? Grab a cuppa tea, a Dream List for the Traveler book and start making plans.

The Dream List books are available on Amazon, at the Dream List Media website and at bookstores in Washington, Alaska and Oregon.

Travel Well!

Dream List Media Makes Dreams Come True with New Journal Series

BELLINGHAM, WA (September 26, 2008) – Photo albums and journals evolve into full-fledged dream makers with Dream List Photo Journals, aimed to organize, realize, and commemorate one’s life dreams.  The themed photo journal series is part photo album, part journal, and part organizer, which encourages people to follow their dreams and celebrate their accomplishments.

Dream List Media and its author, Melissa Borghorst, launch the first two photo journals in the Dream List series—Dream List for the Traveler focuses on dreams of exploration and adventure, while Dream List for My Amazing Life is perfect for a mixture of aspirations of different types.

The unique fill-in-the-blank format allows users to create personalized dream lists, map out action plans, and organize dream contacts and resources.  After achieving each dream, it provides photo and journal space to highlight each accomplishment.  The finished product is a customized book about their exciting and fun-filled lives to inspire future dreams and to share with friends and family.

In an age of baby boomers retiring to enjoy their Golden Years, Generation Y grads entering the “real world” to seek new adventures, and the world becoming more aware of life and it’s possibilities, this series calls out to each and every one of them—both the young and the young at heart.

Photo journals are available at www.dreamlistmedia.com or at various gift and book stores.  For further information, please email info@dreamlistmedia.com, call (360) 676-6718, or visit www.dreamlistmedia.com.
